本标准规定了金属材料在冲击试验中测定冲击试样（V型、U型缺口和无缺口试样）吸收能量的夏比摆锤冲击试验方法。本标准适用于室温、高温或低温条件下夏比摆锤冲击试验，但不包括仪器化冲击试验方法，这部分内容参见GB/T 19748。
