GB/T 43084.1-2023 Plastics—Fluoropolymer dispersions and moulding and extrusion materials—Part 1:Designation system and basis for specifications
Basic Information
Scope
This document establishes the naming rules and classification basis for fluoroplastic materials.
Based on a systematic approach, different fluoropolymers are classified and named primarily based on the unique properties, applications, processing methods, main performance characteristics, additives, colorants, fillers, and reinforcing plastics of fluoropolymers.
Among them, the classification of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) into moldable and extrudable granular PTFE or dispersed and coagulated PTFE resins is based on standard relative density (SSG), bulk density, and particle size.
The classification of PTFE dispersions is based on solids content, surfactant percentage, and surfactant tolerance grade.
The classification of melt-processable resins (CPT, ECTFE, EFEP, ETFE, FEP, PFA, PVDF, PVF, VDF/CTFE, VDF/HFP, VDF/TFE, VDF/TFE/HFP) is based on melting temperature and melt mass flow rate.
The classification of PCTFE is based on zero strength time (ZST).
The classification of TFE/PDD is based on glass transition temperature (Tg).
The classification of melt-processable resin dispersions (ETFE, FEP, PFA, PVDF, PVF, VDF/CTFE, VDF/HFP, VDF/TFE, VDF/TFE/HFP) is based on solids content, surfactant content, and surfactant tolerance grade.
This naming rule applies to all fluoropolymers and their mixtures. It applies to unmodified materials and modified materials, such as those containing colorants, additives, fillers, reinforcing agents, and polymer modifiers.
Materials with the same name may not necessarily have the same performance. This document does not provide the engineering data, performance data, or processing conditions data required to describe the special applications and/or processing methods of materials. If necessary, these additional requirements can be determined using the test methods specified in GB/T 43084.2.
