Scope

This section applies to proximity switches (PDF) with good resistance to failure. This section specifies the requirements for four different types of PDFs. Note: Due to the good resistance to failure of these switches, PDFs are suitable for: — Interlocking electrical devices (see ISO 14119:1998); — Situations where it is necessary to detect the presence of protective facilities (see GB/T 15706.1-1995). For PDFs used in applications requiring additional features (specified by other standards), they should meet all the requirements of the relevant standards.
