Scope

This part specifies the requirements for threaded or non-threaded terminal blocks installed on brackets, primarily used for industrial or similar applications, to provide electrical and mechanical connections for copper wires. This part applies to circuits with a rated voltage of AC not exceeding 1,000 V, a frequency of up to 1,000 Hz, or DC not exceeding 1,500 V, and is used to connect round copper wires with a cross-sectional area of 0.2 mm2 to 300 mm2 (AWG 24/600 kcmil), whether they have undergone special processing or not.
