Scope

This standard specifies the method of determining the content of bovine fibers in mixtures of bovine fibers and certain other fibers after removing non-fibrous substances by chemical analysis.
This standard is applicable to two-component mixtures of bovine fibers with wool or other animal hairs, silk, acetate fibers, cellulose fibers (cotton, flax, ramie, viscose fibers, modal fibers, cuprammonium fibers), polyamide fibers, polyester fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers, polypropylene fibers, chlorine-containing fibers, and polyurethane elastic fibers.
Note: The method of identifying bovine fibers is described in Appendix A.
