Scope

This part of GB/T 31840 specifies the materials, structure, dimensions, and testing requirements for fixed-installation rated voltage 35 kV (Um = 40.5 kV) aluminum alloy core extruded insulated power cables used in distribution networks or industrial installations. This part applies to rated voltage 35 kV (Um = 40.5 kV) aluminum alloy core extruded insulated power cables. When determining the application of cables, it is recommended to consider the potential risk of radial water ingress. This part includes so-called longitudinal waterproofing structure cables and their testing. This part does not apply to cables with special installation and operating conditions, such as those used for overhead cables, mining industries, nuclear power plants (inside and near the containment shell), and those used underwater or on ships.
