Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 31840 specifies the materials, structure, dimensions, and testing requirements for fixed-installation aluminum alloy core extruded insulated power cables with a rated voltage of 6 kV (Um = 7.2 kV) to 30 kV (Um = 36 kV) used in distribution networks or industrial installations. This part applies to aluminum alloy core extruded insulated power cables with a rated voltage of 6 kV (Um = 7.2 kV) to 30 kV (Um = 36 kV). When deciding on the application of cables, it is recommended to consider the potential risk of radial water ingress. This part includes so-called vertically water-resistant structure cables and their testing. This part does not include cables for special installation and operating conditions, such as those used for overhead cables, in the mining industry, in nuclear power plants (inside and near the safety shell), and in underwater or ship applications.
