Scope
This standard specifies the general principles for system research during the planning phase of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission projects, and provides the process, methods, and deliverables for selecting a system solution. This standard applies to HVDC projects using phase-shifting converters in power grids, including both long-distance HVDC transmission projects and back-to-back HVDC projects. HVDC transmission projects using voltage-source converters can refer to this standard for implementation.
