GB/T 31925-2015 Ultrasonic test methods of heavy wall thickness seamless steel pipes and tubes
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the principles, testing methods, comparison samples, flaw detection equipment, testing conditions, testing procedures, result evaluation, and testing reports for ultrasonic testing of seamless steel pipes with a wall thickness-to-outer diameter ratio greater than 0.2 and less than 0.3. This standard applies to ultrasonic testing of longitudinal and transverse defects in thick-walled seamless steel pipes with an outer diameter of not less than 6 mm for various applications. The flaw detection method described in this standard is mainly used for detecting metal discontinuities inside steel pipes and is not suitable for detecting layered defects. The testing of steel pipes with a wall thickness-to-outer diameter ratio greater than or equal to 0.3 shall be conducted in accordance with the methods agreed upon by both the supplier and the buyer.
