Scope

This standard specifies the test method for determining the resistance of coatings to artificial climate aging using test equipment that includes fluorescent UV lamps and condensation or spray water.
Note: Since the UV light generated by fluorescent UV lamps only simulates a portion of the UV spectrum in sunlight, the test specimens are exposed to a small but more destructive portion of the spectrum.
Compared to sunlight, this test lacks the energy of visible and infrared radiation, so the temperature of the test panels is not higher than the temperature of the surrounding air during actual use.
