Scope

This document specifies a laboratory method for measuring the capture efficiency of welding fumes by the suction system of a welding gun, including the test principle, test equipment and materials, test procedures, and test report requirements.
This document is applicable to suction systems integrated into welding guns and additionally connected to welding guns near the arc zone, used to evaluate the impact of variables such as suction air volume, suction nozzle position, shielding gas flow, welding geometry, welding gun angle, and fume emission rate on the capture efficiency of all continuous wire feeding welding processes.
