Scope
This document specifies the design and manufacturing requirements for ventilation equipment used to collect and separate fumes generated by welding and related processes (such as arc welding and thermal cutting), including occupational health information, equipment requirements and verification, user instructions, and marking.
This document applies to local exhaust ventilation systems (LEV, excluding ventilated workbenches), mobile and fixed fume collection equipment, and fume separation equipment used in welding and related processes. It does not apply to overall ventilation systems, air supply or conveying systems, air conditioning systems, or grinding dust.
