Scope

This document describes the measurement methods and conditions for the emission noise level and spectral characteristics of railway locomotives and other types of track-based locomotives.
This document is applicable to:
— Type testing of locomotives;
— Dynamic acceptance testing in engineering;
— Periodic supervision inspections;
— Routine noise measurement;
— Environmental impact assessment measurement.
The results can be used for:
— Characterizing the emission noise characteristics of railway and urban rail transit trains;
— Comparing the emission noise of various types of locomotives in specific sections;
— Obtaining basic sound source data of trains.
