GB/T 29166-2012 Petroleum and natural gas industries—Steel drill pipe
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements for the supply of steel drill pipes used in drilling and production operations in the oil and gas industry, which have end-thickened tubes and butt welded drill pipe joints. These steel drill pipes are divided into three product specification grades (PSL1, PSL2, and PSL3). The requirements for PSL1 are the basic requirements of this standard. Appendix G specifies the standard technical requirements for different grades of PSL2 and PSL3.
This standard includes the following drill pipe steel grades:
——E steel grade drill pipes;
——High-strength grade drill pipes, X, G, and S steel grades.
Figure B.1 shows a typical drill pipe structure and marks the main components and lengths. The main dimensions and weights of drill pipes of various steel grades are given in both the International System of Units (see Table A.1) and the US Customary System of Units (see Table C.1).
This standard can also be used for drill pipes with drill pipe joints that are not specified in ISO or API standards.
After consultation between the purchaser and the manufacturer, this standard can also be applied to drill pipe tubes and/or drill pipe joints of other sizes. This standard lists the supplementary requirements for testing, performance verification, and non-destructive testing (see Appendix E), which can be selected by the purchaser and the manufacturer through consultation.
