Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for pointer quartz clocks (hereinafter referred to as "quartz clocks").
This standard applies to quartz clocks with a crystal oscillator frequency of 32,768 Hz and a nominal operating voltage of 1.50 V DC. The quartz clock movement and other timing devices using this type of movement can also be used as a reference.
This standard does not apply to quartz clocks for special purposes, such as those used in aircraft, ships, and automobiles.
