Scope

This document specifies the materials, classification, requirements, system applicability, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of polyethylene pipes (hereinafter referred to as "pipes") made from polyethylene (PE) compound materials by extrusion molding, and polyethylene fittings (hereinafter referred to as "fittings") made by injection molding, machining, or welding. This document is applicable to polyethylene pipes and fittings used in nuclear power plants for cooling water with a water temperature not exceeding 60 °C and a hydrostatic design stress (HDS) not exceeding 6.90 MPa, as well as for general-purpose pressure water conveyance.
