Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the content of polyimide fibers in the following two groups of mixtures after removing non-fiber substances by chemical methods:
—— Polyimide fibers; and
—— Certain protein fibers (wool, special animal hair fibers, silk, etc.), cellulose fibers (cotton, flax, viscose fibers, etc.), polyamide fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers, polyester fibers, polytetrafluoroethylene fibers, and polyphenylene sulfide fibers.
This standard is applicable to mixtures containing polyimide fibers.
