Scope

This standard applies to the measurement of airborne noise emitted by a combination of a steam turbine and a driven machine (hereinafter referred to as a steam turbine unit). There are no restrictions on the output power of units equipped with specified auxiliary equipment. This standard only applies to steam turbine units (steam turbines, generators, and connecting components) located above the steam turbine operating level and within the continuous measurement envelope surface bounded by this level. Above the steam turbine foundation, the continuously extending steam turbine operating level with reflective properties will be considered as a reflective plane.
