Scope

This standard applies to temperature controllers installed in electrical appliances for household and similar purposes with a rated voltage not exceeding 690 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A. It includes bimetallic temperature-sensitive controllers (referred to as temperature controllers) that use bimetallic elements to control temperature and bimetallic temperature-sensitive limiters (referred to as temperature limiters) that are designed to prevent overheating. Both are collectively referred to as bimetallic temperature controllers (referred to as temperature controllers).
