Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the general principles and procedures for food sampling and inspection.
This standard applies to the acceptance sampling and supervision sampling of delivered batches of food.
This standard applies to the control of products with uniform quality characteristics, including the control of the percentage of non-conforming units of a product (discrete individual products), the number of non-conforming units per hundred units, or the average value, as well as the control of the average value of bulk materials.
This standard does not apply to the control of the production process of products, and it does not include specific food sampling procedures and secondary, multiple, and sequential sampling schemes. It does not consider the control of similar products where the measurement error is not negligible compared to the sampling error, nor the control of the qualitative characteristics of bulk materials.
