Scope

This document specifies the definitions and requirements for the communication physical layer, data link layer, transport layer, and application layer based on Controller Area Network (CAN) between the Service Electronics Communication Controller (SECC) of non-vehicle-mounted conductive chargers (hereinafter referred to as "chargers") and the Electric Vehicle Communication Controller (EVCC) of electric vehicles.
This document applies to the communication between chargers or charge/discharge machines and electric vehicles using charging mode 4, as well as the communication between chargers or charge/discharge machines and the electronic control units of electric vehicles with charging control functions. The electric vehicle communication controller includes, but is not limited to, the battery management system (BMS), as well as in-vehicle systems that need to communicate with chargers to implement other special functions.
Chapters 5 to 11 of this document apply to charging systems specified in Appendix B of GB/T 18487.1—2023 (hereinafter referred to as "Type A systems"), and Chapters 10 to 11 apply to charging systems specified in Appendix C of GB/T 18487.1—2023 and the charge/discharge systems defined in Appendix E (hereinafter referred to as "Type B systems").
In this document, "vehicle" specifically refers to "electric vehicles".
