Scope

This document specifies a formal description of the manufacturing change management (MCM) process, providing organizational and technical solutions for the comprehensive mapping and handling of changes between production planning and operations. The purpose of this document is to consistently obtain and track change measures, and to reasonably predict and coordinate the capabilities required for the change process in planning and production departments.
This document proposes a data-oriented view of manufacturing change management (MCM) implementation. The most important aspect of the data-oriented view is that central change elements are linked to objects of the digital factory (i.e., processes, products, and resources). The basis of manufacturing change management (MCM) and the different perspectives proposed in this document is the production planning process.
ISO/TR 18828-1 outlines the content of the ISO 18828 series of standards and links manufacturing change management (MCM) to other parts of ISO 18828, focusing on the production planning process, as well as information flow and key performance indicators. This document covers the following aspects:
