Scope

This standard specifies the method of measuring the plasticity and recovery values of unblended rubber, blended rubber, unsulfurized recycled rubber compounds, and rubber-based materials using a parallel plate plasticity tester. Note: The plasticity and recovery values are related to the viscoelasticity of the material. The plasticity value is related to fluidity, and the recovery value is related to elasticity. These properties are very useful in predicting the processing performance of rubber, for example, in evaluating the ease of molding and extrusion expansion.
