Scope

This standard specifies the general principles of direct visual inspection and indirect visual inspection for determining whether a product meets the specified requirements (for example, the surface condition of the workpiece, the alignment of the mating surfaces, and the shape of the workpiece). This standard does not apply to inspection activities conducted using any other destructive or non-destructive testing methods. The basic rules for the application of non-destructive testing specified in GB/T 5616 apply to this standard.
