Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, classification and naming, requirements, test methods, and traceability documents for recycled plastics.
This document is applicable to recycled plastic pellets made from waste thermoplastic plastics through processes such as screening, classification, cleaning, and melt extrusion granulation (including processes such as drawing, thermal cutting, and/or water cutting). This document is also applicable to polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle flakes.
This document is not applicable to recycled plastics from hazardous waste such as medical waste, pesticide packaging, and radioactive waste.
