Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of large-scale railway maintenance machinery, the conditions of use, the requirements for the whole vehicle and its various systems (components), the special requirements for large-scale railway maintenance machinery at high altitudes, inspection and testing, the marking of the whole vehicle, and packaging and transportation. This standard applies to large-scale railway maintenance machinery used on 1,435 mm gauge railways. Railway large-scale maintenance machinery for non-standard gauge railways may be implemented with reference to this standard.
