Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements, quality indicators, and test methods for organic heat transfer fluids used in various types of organic heat transfer fluid boilers and their heat transfer systems; determination and disposal; inspection cycles and sampling; mixing; recycling; and cleaning, replacement, and disposal of heat transfer systems. This standard applies to organic heat transfer fluids used in various types of organic heat transfer fluid boilers as heating equipment for indirect heating purposes, and does not apply to organic heat transfer fluids used solely for freezing and low-temperature cooling purposes.
