Scope

This standard provides terms and definitions for the green design evaluation of recycled polyester in its life cycle, evaluation requirements, requirements for preparing self-evaluation reports for green design products, requirements for preparing life cycle assessment reports for products, and criteria for determining green design products. This standard applies to the green design evaluation of recycled polyester products produced by two processes: physical and chemical methods, including recycled polyester bottle chips, foam materials, slices, and other shapes of primary particles processed from waste polyester (PET) and its products; recycled polyester filament yarns (including pre-oriented yarns, fully drawn yarns, and drawn deformed yarns), and short fibers (including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, cotton-type, and wool-type).
