Scope

1.1 This part specifies the general requirements that standard sample producers should follow when demonstrating their operational capabilities. Only those who meet these requirements can be recognized as capable of producing standard samples.
1.2 This part applies to the establishment and operation of a management system for quality, administrative, and technical operations by standard sample producers, and also applies to the confirmation and recognition of the capabilities of standard sample producers by customers of standard samples, statutory regulatory authorities, and accreditation bodies.
Note: This part is not used for the qualification assessment of certification bodies.
1.3 This part specifies the management system requirements that standard sample production should meet, which are an integral part of the overall quality assurance (QA) procedures of standard sample producers.
1.4 This part covers the production of certified and non-certified standard samples. The production requirements for non-certified standard samples are less stringent than those for certified standard samples. This part specifies the minimum requirements for the production of non-certified standard samples.
