Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements and test methods for cold water meters for drinking water.
This standard applies to water meters with a common flow range of 0.6 m3/h to 4,000 m3/h (corresponding to a nominal diameter of 15 mm to 800 mm as specified in GB/T 778.1—1996), a maximum allowable working pressure (MAP) greater than or equal to 1 MPa, and a maximum allowable working temperature (MAT) of 30°C for different metering grades of water meters.
This standard is only applicable to water meters whose pressure-bearing parts, such as the meter casing, are made of metal materials.
