Scope

This document establishes the general requirements for safety-critical instrumentation and control (I&C) systems in nuclear power plants, and specifies the overall I&C safety life cycle, the system safety life cycle, overall integration and commissioning, and overall operation and maintenance.
This document is applicable to the safety-critical I&C systems of new nuclear power plants. For the upgrading or modification of the safety-critical I&C systems of existing nuclear power plants, it can be used for reference. The applicable requirements should be determined at the early stage of the project.
