Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining aniline compounds in gasoline using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
This standard is applicable to the determination of aniline compounds in gasoline. In this standard, aniline compounds include aniline, o-methylaniline, m-methylaniline, p-methylaniline, N-methylaniline, and N,N-dimethylaniline.
The detection range of each aniline compound is 10 mg/L to 1,000 mg/L. If the content exceeds this range, the method can still be used for determination, but the precision has not been evaluated.
Alcohol compounds, ether compounds, acetone, ethyl acetate, ethyl tert-butyl ether, and dimethyl carbonate in gasoline do not interfere with the determination of aniline compounds by this method.
