Scope

This document specifies the basic test methods for rotating traction motors (hereinafter referred to as "motors"). This document is applicable to rotating motors used in railroad locomotives and road vehicles, including traction motors, main generators driven by engines, main generator sets, auxiliary motors, auxiliary generators, auxiliary generator sets, and auxiliary rotating converters. For rotating traction motors with special requirements, the test methods not specified in this document shall be determined by the user and the manufacturer through consultation.
