Scope

This document specifies the requirements for the EMS on-board communication service, which enables data exchange between the internal functions of the electric energy measurement system (EMS) and between the EMS and other on-board subsystems via digital interfaces, as well as the requirements for the EMS vehicle-to-ground communication service, which enables wireless data communication via digital interfaces between the EMS and ground-based communication services. It also stipulates the consistency testing requirements for the EMS on-board communication service and the vehicle-to-ground communication service.
This document is applicable to Level 1 EMS systems.
