Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for the configuration, installation, operation, and verification of multi-channel ultrasonic flowmeters (hereinafter referred to as ultrasonic flowmeters) using the propagation time difference method. It provides methods for measuring the flow rate of liquid hydrocarbons with ultrasonic flowmeters, principles for configuring verification systems, and verification methods, as well as methods for evaluating measurement uncertainties. This standard applies to ultrasonic flowmeters with ultrasonic transducers fixedly installed in the fluid pipes to be measured. This standard can also be used in scenarios including distribution measurement, ultrasonic flowmeter calibration, and leak detection.
