GB/T 32821-2016 Gas turbine applications—Safety
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the safety requirements for gas turbines of various types using liquid or gaseous fuels, intended for land and sea use, including floating platforms, with open-cycle (simple, combined, heat recovery, reheat, etc.) configurations, as well as related control and detection systems and necessary auxiliary facilities.
This standard details the major hazards associated with gas turbines and outlines preventive measures and processes to reduce or eliminate these hazards. The standard addresses risks to human health and environmental harm, but does not cover equipment damage unrelated to health or environmental hazards.
This standard applies to drive machinery (such as gearboxes) directly connected to gas turbines, or located within the turbine casing and forming part of the hazardous area of the casing (e.g., generators located within the casing), or drive equipment that directly affects the safe operation of gas turbines.
Gas turbine generator sets are typically specified using international and national standards. Safety requirements are enhanced through the application of additional general safety regulations. It should be noted that this standard does not cover local regulatory requirements for equipment use.
This standard specifies the safety requirements for gas turbines from an international perspective, based on existing certified ISO and IEC standards, to the greatest extent possible. For aspects not covered by ISO or IEC standards, other specifications or standards (e.g., EN, NFPA, etc.) are used. If local or national regulations accept alternative specifications or standards or stipulate equivalent risk levels for international or national standards, these alternative specifications or standards may replace the normative references in Chapter 2.
This standard does not apply to gas turbines primarily used for direct and indirect drive, those using special heat sources, or those in the developmen
