GB/T 18380.33-2022 Tests on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 33:Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category A
Basic Information
Scope
This document describes the Class A test method used to evaluate the ability of vertically installed bundled electrical wires, cables, or optical cables to suppress the vertical spread of flames under specified conditions. This document is applicable to cable or optical cable samples installed on a test steel ladder, with the total nominal volume of non-metallic materials contained in the samples being 7 L/m. The fire supply time is 40 minutes. The cables and optical cables are installed in front of the steel ladder. Cables with a conductor cross-section greater than 35 mm2 should use standard steel ladders or wide-type steel ladders based on the number of cable samples, while cables and optical cables with a conductor cross-section of 35 mm2 or less should use standard steel ladders. Class A is used to evaluate scenarios with a high content of non-metallic materials. This test is used for type approval testing. Requirements for selecting cables and optical cables for testing are provided in Appendix A. The spread of flames is measured by the damage extent of the cable and optical cable samples. This test procedure can be used to verify the ability of cables and optical cables to suppress the spread of flames. Recommended performance requirements are given in Appendix B. Note: In this document, the term "electrical wires and cables" includes all metal conductor insulated cables used for power or signal transmission.
