GB/T 20897.4-2019 Inflatable boats—Part 4:Boats with a hull length of between 8 m and 24 m with a motor power rating of 15 kW and greater
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 20897 specifies the minimum safety requirements for the design, materials, manufacturing, and testing of rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) with a length of 8 m to 24 m and an engine rated power of 15 kW or more, as stipulated by the shipmaster LH.
This part of GB/T 20897 applies to rigid inflatable boats of Type IX and Type X intended to navigate in an ambient temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C, as follows:
——Type IX: equipped with buoyancy tubes covering more than 85% of the port and starboard sides, suitable for coastal and sheltered waters with wind speeds up to level 6 and significant wave heights of up to 2 m (design categories C and D), with an engine rated power of 15 kW or more, and a length of 8 m to 24 m;
——Type X: equipped with buoyancy tubes covering more than 85% of the port and starboard sides, suitable for waters with wind speeds up to level 8 and significant wave heights of up to 4 m (design category B), with an engine rated power of 75 kW or more, and a length of 8 m to 24 m.
Note 1: The general arrangement drawings of Type IX and Type X boats are shown in Appendices A and B.
Note 2: For boats with a rated power of not more than 4.5 kW, see GB/T 20897.1. For boats with a rated power of 4.5 kW to 15 kW, see GB/T 20897.2. For boats with a length of less than 8 m and a rated power of not less than 15 kW, see GB/T 20897.3. 〖JP〗
Boats of types other than the above and Type IX and Type X are not within the scope of this series of standards.
Note 3: For inflatable boats with a length exceeding 8 m, it is recommended to use the requirements of GB/T 20897.3.
