Basic Information
Scope
Within the basic scope described in GB/T17971.1, this part of GB/T17971 specifies the division of the numeric zone and numeric subzones of the keyboard, and also stipulates the arrangement, numbering, and positioning of the keys in the numeric subzone ZN0 and the numeric zone functional subzones ZN1 to ZN6, as well as the allocation of several functions on the keys.
The numeric subzone ZN0 is commonly used in text and data processing. For example: office environments, banks, point-of-sale terminals (POS), remote information and communication services, telephone equipment, home electronic systems, numerical control of machines and equipment, and the entry of personal identification numbers (PINs).
The numeric zone functional subzones ZN1 to ZN6 are commonly used in data logging, text and data processing, and general office environments, etc.
