Scope

This document describes the common defects and uneven structures of longitudinal and transverse low magnification microstructures in deformed high-temperature alloys, the types and characteristics of loose fractures and delamination in longitudinal fractures, the sampling and preparation of samples, inspection and evaluation, methods of presenting results, and inspection reports, etc.
This document is applicable to the inspection of longitudinal and transverse low magnification microstructures and defects in deformed high-temperature alloy cast ingots, melt-test materials, forged (rolled) billets or plates. Other products may refer to this document for implementation.
This document is also applicable to the inspection of loose fractures and delamination in hot-rolled bars of deformed high-temperature alloys with a nominal diameter of not less than 16 mm. The inspection of fractures in other types of bars may refer to this document for implementation.
