Scope

This document describes the experimental methods for measuring radioactive nuclides in vivo and in vitro using non-imaging counting systems.
This document is applicable to gamma radiation counting systems, such as well-type counters and organ probes.
This document is not applicable to Geiger-Müller counters and activity meters (dose calibrators).
As part of quality control, this document describes the routine tests that users of gamma radiation counting systems should perform to maintain appropriate operating conditions. The results of the routine tests will be compared with the reference data determined during or after the acceptance tests.
