Scope
本文件描述了变频器供电的交流电机的性能特性，明确了应用于变频工作制的电机的设计要点。作为电力传动系统的一部分，本文件还规定了电机和变频器之间的接口参数及其相互影响，包括安装指南，但不包括电源接口处的电压，而这部分电压由IEC TS 61800-8描述。
IEC 60034系列标准的其他相关部分的一般要求也适用于本文件范围之内的电机。
电机若运行于潜在爆炸性气体的环境，粉尘防爆的附加要求见IEC 60079系列。
