Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, structural types and parameters, technical requirements, materials, test methods and inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage and transportation for fully welded ball valves used in pipeline transportation systems in the oil and gas industry.
This standard applies to nominal pressures of PN16 to PN160 or Class 150 to Class 900, nominal sizes of DN50 to DN1500 or NPS2 to NPS60; media including crude oil, refined oil, and natural gas; and fully welded ball valves used for flange connections and welded connections in pipeline transportation systems.
