GB/T 28896-2023 Metallic materials—Method of test for the determination of quasistatic fracture toughness of welds
Basic Information
Scope
This document describes the test methods for determining the stress intensity factor (K), crack tip opening displacement (CTOD), and J-integral of welded joints in metal materials.
This document supplements GB/T 21143, which covers all aspects of fracture toughness testing for base metals. This document is used in conjunction with GB/T 21143.
This document is suitable for determining fracture toughness characteristic values, but is not suitable for determining the effective Rcurve (crack propagation resistance curve). However, the sample processing method described in this document is also applicable to the determination of the Rcurve of weld metal. The specified test uses metal material samples that have been welded, machined with notches, and prefabricated with fatigue cracks. The notches are located in the target areas of the weld metal or the heat-affected zone. If applicable, the validity of the location of the fatigue cracks needs to be evaluated.
