GB/T 28896-2012 Metallic materials—Method of test for the determination of quasistatic fracture toughness of welds
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the specific test procedures and methods for determining the fracture toughness K, CTOD (crack opening displacement) and J integral of the weld metal and its heat-affected zone in metallic materials.
This standard is a supplement to GB/T 21143, which covers all aspects of fracture toughness testing and is closely related to this standard in its application. The fracture toughness testing methods introduced in this standard are suitable for determining the crack initiation toughness in engineering terms, but cannot be used to test the so-called crack propagation resistance curves. The test methods introduced in this standard use samples in which the metallic materials are welded and then machined to create notches and prefabricate corresponding fatigue cracks. The notches should be located in the areas to be tested of the weld metal or the heat-affected zone, and the selection of the areas to be tested and the direction of the notches is determined by the user according to the actual situation.
