Scope

This standard specifies the classification and designation of high-carbon chromium bearing steel with high quench hardenability, the content of orders, dimensions, shapes, weights, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates. This standard applies to hot-rolled and forged round steel, and cold-drawn round steel (straight bars) used in the production of bearing rings and rolling elements with an effective wall thickness or effective diameter of more than 20 mm.
