Scope

This standard specifies the classification and designation of high-carbon chromium bearing steel, order content, dimensions, shape, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates. This standard applies to hot-rolled and forged round steel, disc bars, and cold-drawn round steel (straight bars or disc-shaped) (hereinafter referred to as steel) used for making bearing rings and rolling elements. Upon mutual agreement between the supplier and the buyer, other varieties and specifications of steel or steel billets may also be supplied, and the specific requirements shall be specified in the contract.
