Scope

This standard specifies the ordering content, classification and designations, dimensions, shapes, weights, and allowable deviations of quench-hardenable structural steel bars, as well as technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates, etc.
This standard applies to quench-hardenable hot-rolled and hot-forged structural steel bars (hereinafter referred to as steel) used in mechanical manufacturing. The quenchability of the steel is determined by the end quenching method or calculated according to a formula.
