Scope

This standard specifies the equipment, process materials, heat treatment processes and technical requirements, quality control and inspection, energy consumption, safety and hygiene requirements for the heat treatment of metal materials under vacuum conditions.
This standard applies to the vacuum heat treatment of metal materials such as structural steel, tool steel, die steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, titanium alloys, high-temperature alloys, refractory metal alloys, and precision alloys, including vacuum heating quenching, vacuum tempering, vacuum annealing, vacuum solid solution treatment, and vacuum aging processes. This standard does not apply to processes such as vacuum carburizing or vacuum nitriding.
