GB/T 6730.10-2014 Iron ores—Determination of silicon content—Gravimetric methods
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 6730 specifies the determination of silicon content in iron ore by the weight method. This part is applicable to natural iron ore, iron concentrate, and artificial lump ore, including sintered products. The determination range (mass fraction) is 1.00% to 15.00%. **Method 1**: This method is not suitable for iron ores with a reducing agent content greater than 2% (mass fraction), such as pyrite or iron ores with a fluoride content exceeding 0.1% (mass fraction). This method is recommended for low-grade ores with a high content of bivalent elements. **Method 2**: This method can be used for iron ores with a fluoride content greater than 0.1% (mass fraction). This method is recommended for high-grade ores with a low gangue content. Note: For samples with a silicon content of less than 5% (mass fraction), the reduction spectrophotometry method using silicomolybdenum acid is more suitable.
